Wrapping a DIV into an anchor tag is considered a big no-no when it comes to HTML validation and indirectly to SEO validation as well.

To avoid this, the HTML code must be kept clean and the anchor tag added via JavaScript.

This is what the bigBang plugin does. It takes the target URL of a designated anchor tag and it applies it to a desired DIV or other HTML selector.
